1)   If I do not have a social security number, can I use Samaritan Service?
Yes! Please see our Usage Outline page under Individual and Family Usage to see how friends and family can assist you to send and share money using Samaritan Service.

2) Can donated Paybacks be used as a tax deduction?
Yes!  If an organization is filed as a 501(c) charity, you can write off the Payback money you contribute.  However, the individual organization is solely responsible to send you yearly donation reports for tax purposes. Samaritan Service, LLC request this reporting of each organization listed to receive Payback donations. Please contact us for assistance if you do not receive a  statement directly from one of our listed organizations. (Samaritan Service, LLC is not responsible for donation reporting)

3) What is the benefit of using the Samaritan Service versus other methods of giving money?

Lower Fees than other traditional methods of sending money.  You can even "share money" between Card Holders for free. Safer and more secure for you can load money privately on your computer, phone or cell phone web browser from the comfort of your home or office.  The recipient can use the card on-line or for store purchases accepting Visa® debit cards.  You can also withdrawl money from ATM's.

4) Is there a maximum amount I can put on a Card?
Yes!  The amount of each money load to a card, per occurrence, must be a minimum of $25 and no more than $500 total within a 24 hour period.  You can not add more than $3000 within 30 days.  The maximum balance on a card is $1500.

5) Are there any additional benefits for Churches, Schools, and Charitable Organizations to use the Samaritan Service?
Yes!  Under our Edge Plan only, 1% percent of All Visa purchases will produce a paid back to your Church or non-profit organization.  That means for every $100 spent, you get a Payback of $1.  Over time this Payback can really add up.

6) Is there a credit check required?
No!  However, you will need to provide a social security number to be an Account Owner and 18 years of age. (see item 1 if you do not have a social security number)Card Holders are only required to have a valid e-mail address or active cell phone number. 

7) Why is the card called an UPside Prepaid Visa Card?
UPside Visa Prepaid Cardis the product used for handling Samaritan Service, LLC customers money. The issuing bank of UPside Visa® Prepaid Card is Meta Bank who is FDIC insured. Please see our Money Handling and Who We Are pages for more details.

(Samaritanistic = Samaritan like intentions) Loading = Depositing funds onto a card.  Card Holder = Authorized individual who's name is printed on the card. Account Owner = Legally responsible Individual whom the cards are issued
